Quality Time was born out of the passion of President Joshua Owens. His work in the community, such as College Mentor for Kids and independent mentorship of two young boys in the area, has paved the way for future mentors.
These children have formed a close bond with Joshua and it shows in their genuine relationship. His vision for a better future for children built the ideological foundation that Quality Time is built on. The idea for the program came about when friends Joshua Owens and John Waugh decided that it was time for the dream to become a reality.
Late nights in their college townhouse churned out the plan: a way for children to be supported in meaningful ways other than impersonal donations. We at Quality Time believe that a child is shaped by these developmental years and a college-aged mentor can provide a unique source of support, as both an authority figure and a relatable teacher.
